The unit the 4Т40th is intended for переднеп driving cars and represents automatic transmission with elektronnogidravlichesky management. In transmission the transmission with four transfers of a forward course (including one transfer – raising) and one transfer of a backing is established. Management of a transmission carries out electronic BUT by means of two executive EMK of switching. The hydraulic system of transmission eats from the lopastny pump. Pressure of working liquid in system is regulated by BUT by means of the electromagnetic valve of a regulator of pressure (ERD).

The automatic transmission can work in one of seven ranges:

R (Parking) – Mechanical blocking of a target shaft of the transmission, preventing spontaneous movement of the car. With a view of bigger safety the range of R joins on parking at the same time with the parking brake of the car.

R (Backing) – Inclusion of transfer of a backing.

N (Neutral) – the Neutral provision of a transmission is used at start-up and operation of the engine on the motionless car. This range joins also if necessary to start the decayed Engine on the moving car.

D (Movement) – the Range is used in all usual traffic conditions of the car. The range provides automatic switching of all transfers of a forward course and management of GT blocking. Dli of commission of sure and safe overtakings is applied low gear inclusion by full pressing an accelerator pedal.

3–The range is applied at trips on the city, at movement in the hilly district or trailer towage. The range provides automatic switching of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd transfers. Inclusion of the 4th transfer is impossible. Compulsory inclusion of low gears is made similar to a range of D by full pressing an accelerator pedal.

2–The range provides automATI chesky to switching of the 1st and 2 - y-transfers. It is used for intensive dispersal and intensive braking. The range 2 can be included on any speed of the car.

1–Inclusion of the 1st transfer. The range 1 is used in need of intensive braking by the engine. To a transmission it can be included in a range 1 on any speed of the car, but inclusion of the 1st transfer will occur only after decrease in speed of the car to 48–56 km/h.

Automatic Transmission the 4Т40th consists of the following main knots.

Mechanical knots of transmission:

– the hydrotransformer with a blocking friction clutch;
– chain transfer;
– five multidisk friction clutches (2nd F2 broadcast, backing of FZH, 3rd transfer of Federal Law, braking by the FTD engine and transfers of a forward course of FPH);
– two tape brakes (2nd and 4th broadcasts T2/1, 1st of transfer and ZH.T1/ZH);
– three couplings of a free wheeling: two roller MCX (1st and 2nd transfers) and one kulachkovy MCX;
– dvukhryadny planetary transfer;
– the main transfer with differential;
– management valve assembled. Lopastny pump.

Electromechanical knots and electronic devices:

– electromagnetic valve of a regulator of pressure (ERD);
– two electromagnetic valves of switching of a transmission (EMK);
– EMK with shirotno-impulny modulation of a signal of management of FBT;
– sensor of speed of an entrance shaft of transmission (DVV);
